It is important to note the following when considering going for your licence upgrade:
The course for this licence can typically be completed within 2 days. It covers key manoeuvring as well as reversing actions. During the course, the driver will be tested in the following conditions:
We are able to conduct assessments for Unrestricted Gearbox Licences, Automatic Truck Licences, and Synchromesh Truck Licences. However, certain prerequisites need to be met. Get in touch with us today to find out more.
For Unrestricted Gearbox Licences, we cover basic factors – including the use of the ratchet strap and truckies hitch. You can find out more about the hitch, and other load restraints, via the link below.
This will vary, depending on what licence you have. With an LR licence, you are permitted to haul 4.5 to 8 tonnes. For MR, HR, and HC licences, you are not permitted to haul more than 9 tonnes.
This will depend on a range of conditions. For example, if you are a permanent resident in Australia, you can drive on a current overseas licence for up to 3 months. If you are a visitor, your current overseas licence may be valid indefinitely. We recommend checking the Transport for NSW website to verify how long your licence is valid according to your circumstances.
An Unrestricted Gearbox Licence is required if you want to operate any kind of gearbox truck. The final test for this licence typically takes an hour to complete.
